Do I, the parent/carer, need to attend the appointment?
This will depend on your child’s age, what their therapeutic goals are and where the session is delivered. It is important for parents and carers to be involved within our therapy sessions to ensure the child has the greatest opportunity for success. Although, when completing assessments or targeted therapy sometimes it can be beneficial to minimise distractions. When appointments are held within the school environment the child will attend alone and regular progress discussions will be scheduled with the parents/carers to ensure your continuous involvement and communication about your child’s therapy.

Where will our appointment occur?
Currently, Sunny Starts is offering Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Pathology to some mobile locations. This is something we will discuss in our initial parent-therapist conversation via telehealth (phone call or video call). If you require further details prior to this conversation please contact us.

What additional charges may I be invoiced for, through using Sunny Starts services?

No, families can self refer using our online referral form, click here.
